Data & Storage Device Destruction

Assuring client data is not leaked into the secondary market is a top priority for SLS. We offer services to remove data or destroy storage devices. We utilize internal BIOS tools or 3rd party products such as Blanco and White Canyon to erase data to DOD standards. We can also remove storage devices, degauss then destroy, or return them.

We’ll provide detailed Records (device and storage device serial number) and Certificates of Data Destruction on every device that goes through our eraser processes.

Go-To-Market Sales Strategies

Each project has specific criteria needing to be addressed when presenting surplus to the secondary market. Commodity types, brand, configuration, age, timing, pricing expectations, and export restrictions are amongst the criteria considered when developing the sales strategy.

With the specific project criteria defined, SLS then choses the appropriate go-to-market sales strategy to meet the project expectations. SLS will use standalone or a combination of methods to sell our client’s surplus:

  • Outright Purchase” – we buy the inventory and resell it at our risk & expense
  • Timed-Best & Final Events” – we promote the project and present offers
  • 3rd Party Online Auctions Platforms” – inventory is posted on a public auction platform using various methods to protect the asset(s) from selling below expectations.

We Generate Competition for Your Surplus

Having multiple parties competing for available surplus is a key to achieving great results. SLS executes multipronged techniques to generate bidding competition for our client’s surplus assets.

Our known bidder database is continually augmented with interested bidders/buyers discovered through “Social Media Channels”, “Utilization of 3rd Party Listing Services” (specific to commodity types) and renting “3rd Party Databases/Marketing Lists” from best-in-class Marketing Organization.

Competitive Fee Structure

SLS uses a leveraged and virtual resource and infrastructure model to keep our costs contained. SLS operates in a shared services 25,000 square foot facility/warehouse.

Resources are utilized on an as-needed basis thus keeping our overheads to a minimum. Having virtual/shared services allows SLS to provide white-glove and technical services at a competitive rate to our clients. Typically, relative services fees are deducted from proceeds generated when SLS resells assets. Meaning, no up-front costs or monies exchanged hands.

Terms & Conditions

Every item sold by SLS is sold under the terms of “As-Is & Where-Is”, “No Implied Warranty” and “No Refund” after the assets leaves our warehouse or our client’s possession.

We typically sell surplus using “EX-WORKS” (EXW); the product being readied by SLS and/or by the seller; the Buyer being responsible for removing the sold items, the transportation therefrom and the handling of any export related matters thereafter.  Buyers are commonly given 14-days to audit/validate the inventory and describe any discrepancies for a potential resolution.
